Word of the Week

ABF Family - I hope everyone is having a great week. This "cooler" weather has been very nice, especially, the rain. This week in class we'll discuss the topic of "Love" using that all-so-familiar passage in 1 Corinthians 13. Take some time this week to prepare for the discussion and let's see if we can find some new, fresh nuggets for all of our relationships.

Word for the Week

ABF Family
Wow! What a class Saturday night! I don't know about you, but, I walked out feeling truly blessed by God's presence with us. As we discussed, the world offers many keys, but only the key of belief in Jesus will unlock salvation and eternal life. Your key is not meant to be hidden in your pocket. Pass it on and share it with others.
This week, we'll look at the topic of Acceptance.

Have a great week, everyone!

Praises & Prayers 7/11/09 Update

Another Prayer request:
Brian's sister & brother in law, Jenny & Marc are requesting that we pray for Marc's best friend's wife and family. Steven and Tiffany are there names. Tiffany has been diagnosed with b-cell non-hodgkin's lymphoma this past week. A complete and total surprise, has not been sick at all. THey are on there way to MD Anderson today for a week of tests and decisions about treatment. Only knowing the current diagnoses and that there is no metastatic dz, she should do excellent! They have 2 young kids, Jake & Emma. Marc and Jenny have visited class a handful of times over the years and has always commented very positively about our class and it's members. She told Tiffany yesterday, if there is a group of people that will pray fervently for you, it will be my brothers class. So that was very kind of her and says TONS about our class and what they see in the people with just a few visits! Love you guys and thank you for being faithful=) I will keep you posted on Tiffany's diagnoses and outcome of testing this week=)

Blessings

All,

I hope this finds everyone with memories of another wonderful July 4th. We truly live in a blessed country that was founded on God's principles. We need to remember those blessings everyday and acknowledge that all that we have comes from God himself.

Lets spend the week look at God's word on blessings and thanking God for our blessings. Lets be a group that is focused on our blessings not what we don't have. God promises to provide all that we need, not all that we want. Regardless of circumstances, we all have all that we need. He is a good and loving God all that time!

Be Blessed this Week! (This is the case everyday, we just need to acknowledge it)

Brian

ABF Updates

Just wanted to let everyone know Tim and Elaina have named their baby girl Anna. Jenn and I visited with Elaina, Anna, and Tim last night. They all are doing well. Anna slept most of the time we were there. Elaina and Anna will come home on Friday. Please keep all of them in your prayers, especially, Tim. He is working at night on a project and trying to juggle sleep, time with Ava and Alex, and time at the hospital with Elaina and Anna during the day.

Jenn and I also visited with Nikki Morris while we were at the hospital. Nikki and Thomas gave us a good report on her status. They still have a long road ahead as Nikki could be in the hospital for 2-5 more weeks. Nikki mentioned that her doctor wants to move her from her current room to a room with a better view so she will be able to watch the fireworks on Sat. night. I think all of the doctors, nurses and staff have done and are doing what they can to make Nikki and Thomas as comfortable as possible given the duration of the stay they are facing. Nikki mentioned that prayers are what they need the most of right now.

I hope everyone has a great day in their walk with our Lord. Remember the words of Nehemiah 4.14: After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord who is great and awesome and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes. (NIV)
